Florence rewards those who go by bike: up to a maximum of 30 euros per month for those who choose the two wheels
In Florence, there is an interesting project called "Pedal, Florence rewards you" that offers economic incentives to those who use the bicycle for city trips. Here are the details:
The project provides a monthly contribution for cyclists. Incentives include:
- Up to 20 euro cents per kilometre travelled by cyclists travelling between home and work and school/university.
- Bonus for the more virtuous: Citizens who travel the most can receive up to 100 euros for the 200 users who have accumulated more points in the App with virtuous actions (km pedaled, participation in events and questionnaires etc). Each participant, during the project, can receive additional monthly prizes up to a maximum of 200 euros.
- Participation: All citizens over the age of 18 can participate, including workers and students. Participation is open to:
- Residents or domiciled in Florence studying or working in Florence.
- Residents or domiciled in Florence working or studying in the municipalities of the agglomeration (as Bagno a Ripoli, Calenzano, Campi Bisenzio, Lastra a Signa, Scandicci, Sesto Fiorentino, Signa).
- Residents or domiciled in the agglomeration municipalities studying or working in Florence.
- Objective: The project aims to promote the use of the bicycle for all systematic trips, not only home-work but also home-school/university. The incentive is greater for these routes, up to 20 cents per kilometer.
Both ordinary and pedal assisted bicycles can be used (e-bikes and cargo bikes). The purchase of the latter will be encouraged by the City from June.
- Pin Bike Kit: The project is based on a kit made by Pin Bike, which certifies and monitors urban routes. The kit includes a bluetooth hardware device and a dedicated app.
