A Green Oasis Just Steps from the City
The Anconella Park is also known as Parco Albereta-Anconella: it stretches between the Arno and Via di Villamagna, between the Da Verrazzano and Varlungo bridges. Its name recalls the white poplars of the historic tree-lined avenue, still visible today. In the lower area, some narrow sections are managed by the aqueduct, while the actual public portion is a green trapezoid about 500 m long and between 100 and 200 m wide, with a small water basin. The area also contains World War II bunkers, still well preserved.
